The Upper Tiber Valley


Montone A site of particular urban and architectural interest is a must to visit the Chiostro of San Francesco and to take a walk in the enchanting historical down town. (8 miles). Città di Castello Characteristic fifth century town walls largely intact. The town extends along the Tiber Valley where the Romans had erected the Tifernum Tiberinum municipality	S.Giustino The ancient history of this small town, when it was a feud of the Dotti Family, then of the Bufalini family, are testified by the Bufalini Castle built in 1492 (9 miles).

San Sepolcro A historical center that can be considered one of the most fascinating examples of the renaissance artistic culture. (11 miles)	Anghiari Originally had built a watch tower; later the counts of Galbino built a series of stone houses surrounded by the town walls, a "castellum". (12 miles)	Citerna The historical down town can be considered one of the most fascinating examples of renaissance artistic culture. (12 miles)	Gubbio is of worldwide importance for its architecture, the rulings of 1321 and 1322 ordered that the palaces be built in an area that confines with all the districts. (18 miles)

Assisi Although it has Roman origins, its present look, both of the buildings and of the general urban structure is determined by medieval development. (25 miles)	Monte S.Maria Tiberina Has very antique origins and as demonstrated by the nearby deposits of bronze's in Trestina and Fabbrecce, was certainly an Etruscan village. (10 miles)	Arezzo You must visit the Santa Maria delle Grazie Church, Piazza Grande, Santa Maria della Pieve. (25 miles)	Perugia Rises in the center of Umbria, has 5 historical districts enclosed within Etruscan city walls.
