A dream made of wood and stone that will let you relive the past.

The old fifteenth century building that houses the Residenza Antica Canonica rises up from within the old town of Città di Castello, right beside the Cathedral. The building was originally used for accommodating the canons of the Cathedral: bearing witness to this far gone era, the imposing doorways have remained in the corridor that still allows for access to the Cathedral today as they did then.

Throughout Residenza Antica Canonica, an atmosphere of times gone by still prevails; it has remained intact thanks to the restoration work that was respectful of the original structure. On the inside of the building we can admire the doorways made of pietra serena with ancient inscriptions, the lacunar ceilings and an important fresco from the 1500's that reproduces the famous Crucifixion by Raphael.

In this elegant location of Città di Castello some interesting initiatives such as painting courses and events are organised on a periodical basis.
